Our Favourite Co-Working Spaces in West London

5/5 (based on Google reviews)

Painting & decorating association mark of quality

As you may or may not know, co-working spaces are very popular at the minute, allowing creative types and small businesses the chance to rent shared working space at very affordable prices – it’s something we’ve been looking at quite a bit recently. And today, the latest entry in our series focuses on London’s western reaches.

Ugli, Wood Lane

Ugli is a co-working space in Wood Lane, West London. Its name is intended to be an ironic play on the word ‘ugly’ due to the grotesque modernist building in which it is housed. The company claims to be ‘lovely inside’ and isn’t actually far wrong. The interior features an eclectic mix of functional Swedish furniture which has been cheerfully installed next to elaborate colonial pieces and then randomly dropped in a space which is unmistakably 1960s. They’ve done their best to make it a congenial place in which to ply one’s trade, but without taking themselves too seriously. How refreshing!

Desk Ninja, Hyde Park

Desk Ninja, although not quite as affordable as it thinks it is, does offer all the basic mod-cons such as high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi and the obligatory ‘hot desk’. There are multiple locations – the branch at Hyde Park can be found in the basement of the Pembridge Palace Hotel no less. The company takes urban renewal very seriously and looks for empty spaces, preferably those located in handsome Georgian buildings in expensive West London locations. The interior is open-plan  all the way, featuring large sanded oak desks and convention-room chairs. Despite the majestic building it occupies, the furniture is most definitely a no-frills affair. Nice, simple business accommodation in a prime area of London.

The Doughnut Factory

Think ‘ergonomic functionality’ and you’ve got the Doughnut Factory. Taken over by The Collective in 2015 and turned into a co-working space, the Factory includes a blend of public and private spaces in which creative types can happily collaborate. It also includes bike storage, 24 hour access, a selection of meeting rooms and also plays host to a variety of events in which the young and beautiful can collaborate to their heart’s content. This is a functional, non-pretentious work-space that won’t break the bank.

Accelerate West

If you’re looking for a Brutalist interior, replete with exposed piping and ducts then Accelerate West is for you. It’s a prime example of the type of co-working space you’d normally find towards the centre of London featuring plenty of white boards, vibrant colour schemes and loads of nooks and crannies in which to ‘incubate’ ideas. Facilities include a ‘touchdown space’, meeting rooms, presentation areas and a healthy (quelle surprise) private cafe. Super-fast internet connectivity is included as a matter of course and 24 hour access is offered to members. Located on Hammersmith Broadway, Accelerate is well-located near to local travel links.
